Canteen Creek is a remote semi-desert area in Northern Territory of Australia. It is about 270km (171 miles) away from Tennant Creek, Alice Springs. Most of the road from Tennant Creek is constructed from gravel/dirt, and is in very poor condition in wet weather. There is a small Aboriginal community that lives alongside the creek.

Andrea Collinson comes from the canteen creek area. She has vivid knowledge about the flora and fauna of the region. We can see the reflection of her knowledge in her beautiful artwork. Andrea observed the new life of the vegetation and plants just after winter rainfall in the area. Andrea’s artwork is bold, colourful and real from the core of her heart. She completely depicted the medicinal plants and bush tuckers of the area. Yvonne’s artworks are detailed and very intricate.
